Hi LaRinda!

Here are the latest pics of our 10 ½ month old beauty. He is doing wonderful & is such a good boy. Very happy, playful & a great companion for Magnum!  He gets distracted very easily so they are not the best photos.

I have been watching your site. You never know when I might get the urge to get another. I’ve been very fortunate & blessed to have 4 wonderful chows in my life!!

Hope this message finds you well !!!!

Damone is a puppy from the Valentina & Blue litter!

Hi Larinda.  I've been meaning to write but if you look at the picutre you'll see Ive been busy.  These little guys all shipped out this week.  I changed our little girls name just slightly.  I kept catching myself calling her Prancer till I finally just gave up and went with it.  Majesty Prancer of Valhalla.  She is just as adorable as you said and I am totally happy with her.  She's just a sweetheart.  We've taken her to the handling classes that I've been taking my big male to, and last week I even took her in the ring just to see how she'd do... and she was perfect.  I think it pissed one lady off.  We've got a show in a couple of weeks with Sam and this lady just spouted off, "bet she won't do that in a couple of weeks"  hehe.  I just laughed and didn't bother telling her it was just a fun run.  I am putting her in a fun match after the show.  I've been working a lot of overtime lately and busy with pups as I'm sure you know from your website but just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how happy we are with her.  I'm going to be off the next several days so maybe I can get some better pictures to send you.  She's looking great and "most" everybody just loves her.  Talk to you later.  Sandy and Ed

we were just showing Mogi pictures of his mom and dad. And himself. He was sitting on the bed right behind my shoulders
crying at the pictures. How awesome huh. He is personable like no other dog I seen. He still doesn't realize that he is about
orty pounds. He loves toys and treats.(I think he has a eating disorder) He is HUGE. He gets his first hair cut this month. He is
the best chow we have ever had. The things his does is just unbelievable. I wish you could visit him. If you are ever in
Southern California please come visit. Not only is he just beautiful he is even more precious in side. We love all of our chows
be he seems to have made his place in this family like no other has. He is loved and shows love to everyone in the family all
day long...Thanks a million...Jim, Tracy, and Mogi

Hi Larinda,

How are you? Sorry it has been so long since we have talked. Between
Christmas and life it has been crazy busy. Tyson is an amazing, smart dog.
He is so hansome we can't believe it. We are going to send you some pics of
him one at a time because the files may be too big. In this one he is 3
months old hanging out with Brendan in his bed. He looks like a stuffed
animal. He loves car rides and goes everywhere with us. He has been on two
hockey road trips staying in hotels with us and has been a great traveller.
The team has adopted him as a mascot! Him and Chelsea get along great. He
is keeping her young. They love to go on walks together. Chelsea walks for
the first half and then hops in her wagon for the ride back and Tyson runs
ahead on the retractable leash and keeps coming back to check on Chelsea.
Tyson had his first trip to our cabin at the lake on New Years Day and
decided to chase some geese across the grass and did not realize that the
grass came to an end and he ended out 10 feet out in the lake. Sean with
his quick reaction jumped in with all his clothes in to save him. We called
it the "polar bear swim" and all had a good laugh. Tyson loves to be
brushed and vacuumed. He stands there like a king, legs stretched out and
chest out. He learned how to sit, shake a paw, speak and go into the down
position. We are working on learning how to come and he will be starting
obedience training soon, mainly for socialization. He loves other dogs but
is still a little head shy with strangers but is getting better. Ty-boy's
latest thing is that he is very camera shy. Sean gave me a new camera for
christmas and when he sees it he runs around the corner and refuses to look
directly at the camera. I am trying to get a current picture of him for
you. We hope you are doing well we think of you all the time. What is new?
Are you going to be having any more litters and if so from who?

Take care and we will talk soon!

Sean, Caroline, Brendan, Brianna, Chelsea & Tyson

This is the lovely family that got Tyson who is a Mia & Clyde Puppy

Hi LaRinda!
Just wanted to write a quick note & let you know how grateful we are to you for letting us have this wonderful year with Kya. We can't believe it's been a year already that we took our little road trip to come see her. It's just been such a wonderful year...............we just absolutely LOVE her!! We especially love that she's so friendly to everyone, & I think bringing her to work with me has really helped a lot, but I also think that's part of it is in her breeding. Every one of your Chows was very friendly to us when we visited, & I think that says a lot about you & your breeding. Thank you so much for our precious bundle of joy.
She's doing really good.....................looks forward to the weekends when she can go for walks through the woods with Dad. We haven't had too much snow for her to play in this winter, just the big snow the 1st weekend in Dec. She LOVED it..............I have pictures, but it's hard to tell how deep the snow is & how much fun she had running through it. She's lost almost all of her grayish puppy undercoat, & looks a lot redder now, which we like. I still brush her every night, & there's still more to come out, but we're getting there.
How have you been doing? I want to get on your website after I get done here & check out your new litter(s). Hope everything's going great for you. We just wanted to check in & say Hi, & thank you again for a wonderful year.
Hope to hear from you soon. How's Lee doing?...........still would love to get those 2 together. Take care, Tom & Molly

Everything is well here. Nemo just got a big haircut that he has needed. With school, work, and my business, I have not had the time to groom him properly, and Victoria

Is not fast enough to catch him, or strong enough to hold him when she does ;-)

The groomer took seven inches from his main, and cut his coat down to 2 inches. His belly was shaved to relieve the mats that have developed. He got into something, or got a hold of something in the yard that had a horrendous smell with it, which lead to the shaving. With our spring time weather we have had the last couple of weeks (70's), he is in dog heaven. Since the groomer got a hold of him, he has been sleeping flat on his back, spread eagle, and snoring louder than I do. He is very happy right now. He waits for me to come home at night (as always) so he can have a cookie (his favorite treat), and wants me to come out and play at 1:30 am when I get home. Victoria has him trained to sit, shake, and fetch (kind of), and they play in the yard sun or snow. I have some pics to send you to let you see how he has grown. He really wants to be a lap dog, but my gosh, he has gotten huge. In a way, I am sorry he was not picked up by someone who shows dogs professionally, but I would not change it for the world. He sleeps in Victoria's doorway, and watches over her with conviction. His traits as a Chow came to full view in the early stages of winter this last year. My experience with Chows has always been "protect the children." In November, there were about 10 children in the backyard, all of them happily playing about. In my cul de sac, everyone knows everyone, the way it should be, and Nemo is friends with all of them. His instinct to protect came around 5 pm, when kids are supposed to come home for dinner. Well, parents came into the house without knocking, which they do in a close neighborhood. They were not "invited" in when they knocked on this day. They walked in, and saw everyone in the back yard, so they walked that way to get their kids. Nemo did not see me or my wife with them at the back door, and that is where he held them, until one of us came to see what the commotion was. He would not let anyone near the children without prior authorization from me or my wife. He stood his ground with fearsome animosity, and would not give an inch. He didn't bite anyone, but the children weren't going anywhere without his, mine, or my wife's permission. Just like I wanted it. The neighbors loved it, and wouldn't have it any other way. He has been a proven babysitter since his arrival, and the kids all love him. Victoria still tries to "dress" him with scarves, necklaces, and anything else a child likes to see on her favorite "puppy", and he eats it up cause he knows he will get a cookie when it is over. And, Victoria makes sure he gets his treats when he needs one (I had to put the cookie box out of reach, she was spoiling him, like I do her, imagine that).

As soon as I download the pictures from the camera, I will pass them on to you.

P.S.- Victoria says Nemo needs a playmate to keep him company;-)

LaRinda,

Here is this weeks installment of "Chewy Pictures".
I wish you could have seen the "Chewster" at the vet's Friday, He was a perfect gentleman. We had to wait so Karen set him up on the bench with her and he simply propped himself up against her and never moved until I came back into the office, then he sat between us jus like a good little boy.
We both feel that he has brought light back into our house and that we couldn't have found a better puppy.

Thank you very much.

LaRinda,

He is doing fantastic on housebreaking, he asks to go out just like he is supposed to and goes out to do his thing and then is ready to come back into the house.
The first night he was no problem, last night he had to much to eat and drink and had an "accident" in the house, of course we were sleeping in this morning so he had to wait a little too long.
He likes his bed and likes to crawl into it with his wash rag to sleep. Of course he will sleep whereever the notion hits him.

Thank You

These emails were from Chewy's Parents in Southern Oregon

Hello LaRinda,

I just thought I’d drop you a line since I hadn’t contacted you in a while.  Dim Sum is growing rapidly.  When we took him for this 2nd set of shots on November 10th, he weighed almost 20 lbs.  The employees at the vet’s office all love Dim Sum.  One of the employees even recognized him on her day off when we took him out to a strip mall for a stroll.

We take Dim Sum out whenever we can, for short visits to the pet shops or to walk up and down the local strip malls.  Yesterday, I went to the health food store and everyone, including the store clerks and customers went crazy over Dim Sum.  One of the customers was a dog breeder herself who used to show dogs, and she said she could tell Dim Sum came from good breeding stock.  When we took him for a stroll around Old Town Alexandria (a dog friendly, upscale tourist area) all manner of passersby wanted to stop and pet him and asked all kinds of questions.  He’s like a tourist attraction himself!

But of course, attracting attention is not the reason why Dim Sum has endeared himself to my family.  Dim Sum has endeared himself to us because he’s so cute and intelligent and good.  Well, he’s good 95 percent of the time.  The other 5 percent of the time, he does seem to get over excited and rough in the evenings, but we hope this will taper off with age.  I assume his rough housing is just part of normal puppy behavior.  But other than that, he’s an absolute joy.

He’s been to two puppy kindergarten classes so far and seems to be ahead of the curve when learning new things.  My brother does a good job in working with Dim Sum on his “homework” but we haven’t exactly been using the clicker the way they want us to.

Dim Sum’s next immunization appointment is scheduled for November 29th but I may postpone that a few days because I just signed up for pet insurance, and I’m hoping that it will take effect in time to pay for his next set of shots.

Anyway, that’s all I have for now.  I see you have a new litter to tend to so, I won’t take up too much of your time.  If I don’t hear from you, I want to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.

Take care.  I hope to hear from you soon.

All the best,

Margaret

Hi LaRinda
Its been along time since we talked, I got a chow from your Valentina and Mac litter. Winston will be a year old this November and he is doing great, he is just part of the family, my son tells everyone Winston is his brother. I was looking through your page and Clyde's puppies are beautiful. We are wanting to talk to you about bringing another chow to Georgia. Winston needs a girlfriend or a buddy if you think 2 male chows could get along. Winston is a big baby, he gets along with everyone, and loves my spitz dog, but she is a girl so i think he has other ideas....haha.when you get a chance I would like to talk to you about some upcoming litters, or if the little girl from Clyde's litter comes available.

Kim

Hi Larinda!

Long time no talk!  We adopted Summa from you in 2004 and I wanted to give you a quick update.  I will also send pictures when I download them to update his homepage.

We just finished more training with Summa.  He is now CGC certified.  We only have one more class to take before he can start going to hospitals and schools to visit children.  We are so exited to get him going.  He loves the attention and especially loves the classes!  He definitely has a competitive edge to him.  He is a show off in class.  It is very funny to see.

We now have a one year old and another on the way.  He is very good with our son.  They are going to be good buddies in a few years.  Summa doesn't even mind getting his fur pulled now and then.  That's it for now~  I'll send pictures soon!
