Hey LaRinda!
You should see this baby girl of mine! She is now OVER 40 pounds! She is absolutely beautiful! She is starting to shed some of her puppy coat and her tail and parts of her body are silver-blue. I have a few pics to send you - I will do so very soon. She is so fiesty it's hard to get her to be still long enough to take a picture. She loves to run and play - outside as well as through the house. Her favorite "chew toy" is one of the cats - I guess because she keeps moving even when Sassy's huge paw tries to clamp her to the floor. It is quite amuzing. Sassy has learned to mimic the cats with her front paw, so they have "boxing matches". I'm never sure who actually wins - they haven't explained their rules to me yet. But it ususally ends with Lindy or Buddy moving to higher ground (the washer or the top of my dresser) and leaving Sassy down below still wanting to play.
I think I have over socialized her. She loves going out in public and never meets a stranger. But I'm sure if she were on her own turf and a stranger came up, the situation would be different.
Her vet and everyone who works there think she is the most beautiful and unusual chow they have ever seen. (If you remember, I told you my previous chow would only let the vet take her out to go potty. She had a little more agressive nature than this baby.) They all love it when we go in. I take her sometimes just to weigh in. I will take her either tomorrow or next Saturday to check her weight. On July 1 (4 months old) she was 35.8. I had to take her in on July 7 for a kennel cough vac (I was boarding her for two nights while I was out of town) and she was up to 39. This was only a week later! I will try to get a picture of her paws on something with a measure under it so you can see how big they are. She is extremely intelligent. She amazes me. When we go to the back door to go potty, she knows when the inside door is closed and sits and waits for me to open it. If the inside door is already open, she goes right up to the outside door and waits. She brings me her leash to go out. I could go on and on, and I know you have probably heard these same traits about every chow you have sent to a new owner.
I have to sign off now and go teach a piano lesson. I'll talk with you soon.

March 2005

Just an update:

Panda and Nachitau are now buddies, with Nachitau watching over her like a mother.

Panda has developed a bit of an “attitude” (like all Chows) and is quite vocal when she wants fed, watered or let outside (her bark is very cute).

Panda has yet to have an accident in the house, although we’re still on two-hour breaks during the night.  She sleeps on our bed and last night was scratching on my leg to wake me and let her outside.

Hannah took Panda to her pre-school yesterday for show-and-tell and dutifully visited each child as if she had done it before.  She eventually laid down in the middle of the circle and fell asleep while the kids ate their snacks and watched her.

We plan to bath her this weekend, any suggestions on the type of soap?

 Nate

Feel free to post any of my emails to your site.  I will also be willing to give testimonials to prospective customers if required.

LaRinda,

I wanted to give you, as a concerned mother, an update on Panda Bear.

She has bonded with Hannah and sleeps by her side at all times.

She played all weekend with our friends 3 dogs and Nachitau.

She whimpers to communicate when she is hungry, thirsty or needs to go
potty (typical Chow Chow).

She did great on the trip home sleeping by Hannah most of the time.

She has yet to have an accident anywhere; as she goes potty every time
we put her out.

She follows Nachitau around like a shadow--mimicking every motion and
chewing on Nachitau's paws which render a "easy does it" warning growl
from Nachitau.

She is now outside chasing a soccer ball with Hannah, pouncing on it and
running after it when Hannah kicks it.
I'll send you some photos.

Take care,
Nate and family

Hi LaRinda!

I just wanted to drop you a quick not to tell you we are home and getting settled quickly! She is so amazing. Nimi didn't cry, barf or pee in the car. She went the bathroom at the rest stop, and has eaten lunch already. We are floored on well she is adjusting. In the short time we have had she has warmed up to us already. I think we are both glowing. :-) Her and Bruno are doing fine, and she's been great with the cats. They seem a little irritated, but they'll get over it. Thank you again for everything. We will send pictures soon.

Take care,
Seanna

Hi LaRinda-

How are things going in Oregon? Thank you for calling about Nimi's papers. Tom has the day off today so he's going to go to the post office and grab them. Our hours are so off, that it's hard to get to the post office for us.

Things are going so well with Nimi. She is so sweet. She's well over 30lbs now, and just gorgeous! We couldn't of asked for a better puppy. Nimi is doing really well with puppy class, and listens...most of the time.  hehehehehehehe Bruno is her hero, she has taken on a lot of his characteristics.  You would almost think they were blood related. He really loves her too. He has been playing a lot since we have brought her home.

We just couldn't be happier. I have attached a couple pictures for you, I hope they come through. Please feel free to update her link on your website. I look at it at least once a week.

I hope all is well with you, take care!

Seanna

Good afternoon LaRinda-

Here are a couple new pictures for you. Nimi recovered very well from her spay, and it back to normal. It was so hard keeping her quiet, but we are thankful that it is over and she's fine. Phew! The last picture is from this weekend. We were dog sitting all of last week and this weekend. Nimi had lots of friends over. :-) I was going to ask you if you think she will get much bigger. She's about 40 lbs right now. Just curious. We love her so much, and she is such a good girl. We had company on Saturday and she was kissing everyone that walked in the door. A lady that I work with laughed and said "oh ya Chows are really unfriendly". We have also taken her to a groomer twice and they call her the little sweetheart. She's wonderful!!

How are things at Majesty? I hope all is well.

Talk to you later,
Seanna

This last lovely emails were from Nimi new Mommy - Nimi is a Valentina & Blue Puppy

Dear LaRinda,

Here are pics of Majestys Princess Fergie and my male chow Pazzazz Li'l Bear.

Fergie has such personality and is very active.  She loves water and sleeps with her head in the water dish when I have ice in it.  She also loves the wading pool we bought at WalMart.  She has really grown  and has lost most of the black hair in her coat but still has the black tip on her tail.  I hope you can use some of these photos on your website.  We have been really busy and I haven't had time to write until now.  Take care!  Julie

Princess Fergie is a Mia & Blue Puppy!

Hi there!

How are things in Oregon? I just looked at your website & it looks like you're about to have more puppies. Who are the parents? Kya is still the love of our lives. I just can't describe what a joy she is, & how much we love her. It's so hard to believe that she is almost a year old already. How is Lee doing?
Did you ever get the pictures we sent after our trip to the coast in September? We hadn't heard, so just wanted to make sure you hot them. Still wish it would have worked out so the girls could have seen each other. We had Kya spayed at 10 months.............after "surviving" the heat cycle. It really wasn't as bad as we had expected, but still glad we won't have to go through it again. And I'm sure Kya's thrilled that she won't have to wear her panties anymore! We had her microchipped at the same time.............figured as long as she was under anesthetic, we'd go ahead & stick that huge needle in so she wouldn't have to feel it. Have had a problem getting verification...................seems AVID lost our application, even though we've already gotten the canceled check back. After much hounding, they finally found it, so we should get verification in a couple weeks.
Well, we just wanted to let you know we were thinking about you. Good luck with your new litter, & have a happy, blessed Thanksgiving.
    Take care.       Tom & Molly

NOVEMBER 2005

Tom & Molly the proud parents of Kya - She is a Valentina & Blue pup

I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you that we've named the puppy
Rasta and he is doing GREAT!! He is so adorable and he warmed up to us very
quickly. Yesterday we took him to Petsmart to meet some other dogs. We also
singed up for puppy classes and start this Sunday, April 10. I invited the
neighbor girls over to play with him for a while last night. The cat is
warming up, finally. He jumps around him and barks now so they should be
playing soon. Our cat played with the other dog a lot. He has added so
much joy to our lives (especially with what we've been through recently) and
can't thank you enough. I have already taken several pictures and will get
them sent to you by the weekend. I will continue to keep you posted.

I'm feeling so worried today because we had to leave him alone. We tried to
see how he'd do yesterday by leaving him out for short periods but after
about 15-20 minutes he would run to the door and cry and jump against the
glass. I know he will get used to it but it's hard. I don't live far from
work so I can go home and check on him at lunch. I think I'm a little
paranoid considering what happened with Mojo and Lexis. Kevin spent most of
the weekend replacing sections of the fence and will continue until most all
of it is replaced.

Anyway, I just wanted to touch base.

Talk to you soon.

Valerie
