Advantage:
More for your money - Tubes are easier to administer and if you don't need to use the whole tube, they have caps on them. Kills fleas within 12 hours. Not absorbed into the bloodstream, stays on skin. Washes off after a couple of bathes. Not recommended for pregnant or lactating bitches. For puppies 8 weeks and older

Frontline:
Stays on after repeated bathes. Fast acting. Safe for pregnant and lactating bitches. For puppies 8 weeks and older.

Frontline Plus:
Isn't as effective as the original. Kills fleas and the eggs within 24 hours. Not absorbed into the bloodstream, stays on the skin. Safe for pregnant and lactating bitches. For puppies 8 weeks and older. It can be washed off unlike the original Frontline.

Advantix:
Tubes are bigger than Frontline Plus, buy 6 get one tube free, kills fleas and repels tick within 12 hours.

Revolution:
Works great, is easily administered like Frontline and Advantage. About the same cost as Frontline. Is absorbed into the bloodstream. Puppies must be 8 weeks or older.

Bio Spot:
A lot of dogs have had allergic reactions to this.

Hartz Blockade:
Has also produced allergic reactions in dogs.

We use Frontline and are very happy with it. The most economically deal we have found in purchasing this products was by going to www.healthypets.com

The first application we use in the spring is Frontline Plus to rid of any possible eggs but we do not bath for the next 30 days. While using the Original Frontline we can bath often if we like. These topicals are absorbed through the oils in the skin and is best applied a few days after a bath.
