Best Types of Foods for Most Chows

Low protein is the best choice for nearly every Chow.
A good food choice usually is a lamb & rice or Chicken & rice food. In the orient chows did very well eating large amounts of rice. Corn is a hot food and can cause severe allergies, watery eyes & hot spots not to mention bowel difficulties.
It is not uncommon for Chows to need high fat for a large part of their life.
The most expensive food is not necessarily the best. A lot of the time you are just paying for the advertisement costs. Check the ingredients of the food in some of the “other” brands. I don’t recommend any grocery store dog foods. A lot of the large chain feed stores only have the popular expensive brands. Check your privately owned feed stores for the best deals.
Not every Chow will have the same need.
I also give my Chows other nutritional supplements. I buy these supplements from Revival Animal.
We cook fresh brown rice daily and feed that in the morning with a little meat, water and their nutritional products.
